Shuxian Ding

Shuxian Ding began his musical studies at age four on piano and on harpsichord at age six with Prof. JungHae Kim. He was recently invited to play at winners concerts for the Junior Bach Competition as well as the San Francisco Chopin Competition. Shuxian is one of seven talented and young pianists chosen by The Netherlands Bach Society to be part of their Klavierbuchlein Project. The young musicians, who came from Spain, Poland, the United States, Japan and the Netherlands, worked towards an All of Bach recording day. Shuxian’s video will be released on May 1st, 2025.

In addition to his piano studies, Shuxian plays and performs with the Nueva School Band. He also loves swimming, running and biking. He is a youth triathlete, and a team member of the First Youth Triathlon in the Bay Area. He loves to read and can always be found with a book in his hand. Shuxian currently studies with Amy Zanrosso at the Pre-College Academy of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
