The Nala String Quartet is a music group based in Montgomery County, Maryland founded in 2023 with Chloe Lim on cello, Emily Hsieh on viola, and Sofia Grundy and Malena Martin on violins. They have an exceptional bond with one another that allows them to express profound musical ideas in order to create music with depth and remarkable cohesion. Established on the principle of expressing oneself unapologetically, Nala String Quartet embodies the power and pride of a lion and studies under the instruction of Claudia Chudacoff. They have won first prize at the Concert Artist International competition and performed at Carnegie Hall. Nala has also been invited to play in masterclass with Seth Parker Woods, reception for Dr. Anthony Fauci at the Children’s Inn, and pre-concert performance for Paul Huang. Through hard work and dedication, each member of the Nala String Quartet has grown to appreciate the gift of seeing a piece evolve from start to finish and hopes to continue making music together for as long as possible.
