Sophie Su, a sophomore in high school, began piano in 2013 and has studied with Ms. Olga Kuperstein since August 2015—an inspiring, talented, and hardworking teacher. Sophie has practiced actively for over a decade and, since 2015, has competed, performed, and used music to serve her community. Competition highlights: 2023 MSMTA State Solo—1st; 2023 BMTG Intercontinental Music Competition Duet—Grand Prize; 2025 MSMTA State Piano Competition Duet—1st; 2025 MSMTA Miriam S. Gottlieb Memorial Piano Competition Solo—1st; and 2025 Carmel Klavier International Duet—1st—plus the BMTG Lisa Donovan Lukas Composer Award (’22 & ’23).Judges consistently praise her lyrical phrasing, tone, and expressive playing. Sophie looks forward to continuing her musical journey and inspiring others through music.

Annie Yuan, born in Ellicott City, Maryland, began her musical studies at the age of four with Mrs. Olga Kuperstein in June 2013. Annie has earned top honors in major international competitions, including First Prize in the solo category at the Carmel Klavier International Piano Competition for Young Artists (2025 and 2021) and multiple First Prizes and the Composer’s Award at the BMTG Intercontinental Music Competition (2018, 2019, 2021, 2023). In 2022 she captured the Grand Prize in Duet and First Prize in Piano Solo at the BMTG Intercontinental Music Competition. She also received First Prize in both Solo and Ensemble at the Stars of Summer International Vocal & Piano Competition & Festival in Cleveland Cultural Gardens (2022), First Prize and the “Excellent Achievement” Award at the YMIC Virtuoso International Music Competition (2021), where she performed at the Winners’ Concert at the Strathmore Mansion (MD), and First Place at the “Florida Keys” International Music Competition (IMC) in July 2021. Annie was additionally the First Prize winner in the 2024 Maryland State Solo Competition, and earned early recognition with Second Prize at the Carmel International Piano Competition in 2015. An accomplished performer, Annie has appeared on many distinguished stages, including Carnegie Hall, New York City (2018, 2019, 2022, 2023) and other premier venues across the United States. She has been featured as both soloist and collaborator, noted for her expressive interpretations, bold spirit and lyrical touch. Outside of music, Annie enjoys reading, drawing, singing, and traveling, pursuits that continually inspire her artistic voice.
