Tinson Xu

Tinson Xu is a sophomore at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. He began playing the violin at the age of seven and is currently studying with Jin Zhang. He is a member of the CYSO Symphony Orchestra and has served as concertmaster of CYSO’s Debut Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and Philharmonic Orchestra,, as well as principal second of Symphony Orchestra. Tinson was the recipient of the 2025 Paul Vermel Young Artist Award. He also regularly organizes concerts for the elderly and people with disabilities in nursing homes and community centers as vice president of the Harmony for Hearts non-profit organization.
