I began piano at age 12 in Moscow, studying with a private teacher through the Suzuki method. By the time I reached Book 3, I had built a foundation in both ear training and technique, with a strong emphasis on musical memory.
At 15, when I immigrated to the United States, I continued lessons with a new private teacher. That transition marked a turning point — I shifted from method books to advanced repertoire, including Romantic and 20th-century works. Since then, I have studied and performed pieces by Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Beethoven, and Khachaturian, steadily expanding both my technical skill and interpretive depth.
