
Vladyslav Dovhan is a Ukrainian saxophone player and conductor, performing and conducting a broad range of repertoire with a high level of technique and musical understanding. He is a professional saxophone instructor with teaching experience of more than ten years.
Vladyslav holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with distinction from the Lviv National Academy of Music named after Mykola Lysenko, one of Ukraine’s premiere music conservatories, and Master’s degree from New England Conservatory in Boston. Being a winner of several international competitions, he has performed with multiple prestigious orchestras and bands in Ukraine, including the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, the INSO-Lviv National Philharmonic, and the Lviv Jazz Orchestra. He participated in the international saxophone festival “Andorra Sax Fest” (2021) and the Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival in New York (2023) and collaborated with prominent saxophonists, such as Vincent David, Mariano Garcia, Nacho Gascón, Lars Mlekusch, and others.
He was the recipient of the Friedlander Family Presidential Scholarship Award (2022, 2023) and the Boston Woodwind Society’s Saxophone Merit Award (2022).
Continuing his prolific performance schedule in Ukraine and on European tours over the last several years, Vladyslav currently organizes and plays benefit concerts for Ukraine all over the United States and performs with multiple ensembles in the Boston area. These include Harvard Wind Ensemble, New England Conservatory Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds, and Weston Friendly Society.
