Wai Ping Alice Yip

Alice Yip Wai Ping is a pianist and advanced piano teacher whose journey exemplifies the transformative power of music. Diagnosed with autism at a young age, Alice found solace and purpose in playing the piano, which became a guiding light through her unique challenges. Despite facing obstacles, she graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2013, propelled by her exceptional talent and teaching achievements.

Alice’s musical prowess has earned her numerous accolades, including the Third Prize of Professional Artist Category and the First Prize of Professional Composer Category at The Royal International Piano Competition and Festival at the Juilliard in October 2024, the Second Prize at the New York International Music Competition in March 2024, First Prizes in prestigious competitions like both the Piano House Competition and the New York Victory International Music Competition and performing at renowned venues such as New York Carnegie Hall, Dorothy and Lewis B. cullman Center of 40 Lincoln Center Plaza in New York. Her other prizes including the Silver Award in the Open Category at the Global Talented Music Competition, the third place in the Rome International Music Master Competition, the Third Prize in the New York Golden Classical International Music Competition and the Honorable Mention
of The 2nd Danube Concerto Masterclass and Competition at Budapest.

Alongside her performing career, Alice is deeply committed to using music as a tool for social impact, providing music education to individuals with autism through her involvement with the Heep Hong Society.

She has been engaging in music education for more than 20 years. She was awarded the Outstanding Teacher Award by the Hong Kong Asian Piano Competition in 2011 and the Best Teacher Award by the 2020 International Youth Music Competition. She has taught numerous outstanding students. Under her dedicated cultivation, they have won numerous awards in different competitions and examinations such as
Licentiate Diploma from Trinity College of Music in the UK, the champion of the 2020 International Youth Music Competition, Gold Award of the 8th Hong Kong International Youth Performing Arts Festival, the First Runner-up of International Youth Literary and Art Competition in 2021 and the Silver Award of Hong Kong Academic Music Competition Open Group, the Third Prize in the 16th Hong Kong Asian Piano Open Competition in 2011.

Through her dedication, talent, and unwavering commitment to her craft, Alice continues to inspire others, proving that with passion and perseverance, one can overcome any challenge and make a meaningful impact through music.
