
Zhiyu started to learn Piano at 4 years old and discovered his passion on Piano Performance after he received Piano training from Dr. Sarah J. Gao who was the prize winner in numerous national and international piano competitions and now successfully earned DMA of University of Southern California.
Under the instruction of Gao, Zhiyu had thoroughly learned Baroque music pieces such as Inventions, Prelude, Fugue and Italian Concerto by Bach, classical music as Beethoven’s pathétique, Haydn Sonate, and Mozart pieces, for example, Phantasie No.3 K397, Sonata No.10 in C major K330, K485 Rondo in D Major, etc. and some Chopin Pieces like Etude Op.10 No.2, Liszt Grandes études de Paganini Etude No. 6 and so on.
Besides Gao’s instruction, he also got the guidance from Dan Zhaoyi.
Recently, thanks for teachers guidance on music, he captured some awards from 2022 to 2024 music competitions and festivals.

2022 Awards:
• FIRST PRIZE of 2022 International US New Star Piano Competition – Group III
• Special Classical Prize in Category C at 2022 Artciál International Piano Competition.
