I love to play piano and constantly receive recognition. I won top prizes from international piano competitions: Charleston International Piano Competition(2023), “IMKA” International Internet Music & Dance Competition; myself winning the solo category while my Townsville Piano Duet won the duo category. I also received the Platinum Medal in the North American International Virtuoso Music Competition. In previous years, I also won the first prize in the Australian Vocal and Concerto Competition, second prize in the International Music Competition Grand Prize Virtuoso in Rome, third prize in the Rising Stars Grand Prix in Berlin, and American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition which led to Carnegie Hall debut. I also won first prize in the United States Open Music Competition, second prize in the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation, Second prize in International Young Artist Piano Competition in Washington DC. When I was 12, I won my first competition in the Creative Art Competition hosted by Taiwan Television and Min Sheng Daily. I played Jeux D’eau by Ravel and won a cash prize of 20000 NTD.

Besides, I am also an award-winning recording artist. My two albums “Liebesfreud & Liebesleid “ and “ Unbelievable Lightness and Heaviness “ both won the bronze medal in the Global Music Awards.

I received my Master of Music in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Later, I received a full scholarship to the University of California, Santa Barbara, to pursue the Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance. I worked in the music department as a collaborative piano teaching assistant for four years, teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. During this time, I assisted the music department preparing for, and performing in, various opera productions, juries, convocations, chamber ensembles, lessons and seminars. In addition, I am frequently invited by local scholarship auditions and competitions to be a staff pianist. After graduation, I worked at Long Beach City College Dance Department as collaborative pianist for modern dance and ballet classes; East Los Angeles City College Music Department as staff pianist and vocal coach, Orange County School, San Clemente High School and San Clemente High School as staff pianist . Besides, I was also hired by Cabrillo Playhouse as music director and pianist.

Over my career, my performances received wonderful reviews from music organizations and social media. For example: Cosmo Buono described my performance of Mozart/ Volodos Turkish March as “tour de force” and “very virtuosic”. Santa Barbara Independent Music writer James Hanley Donelan reviewed my piano accompaniment to UCSB Opera Theatre’s presentation of Riders to the Sea stating, “Naomi Sen’’s accompaniment on piano supported the singers with gentle sensitivity, yet left us somewhat haunted. ” These and other awards and recognitions speak to my commitment to a lifetime of learning and musical education.

I have trained students of a variety of ages, backgrounds and skill levels in both public and private institutions. As a teacher, I believe it is important to help my students develop a mindful and musical ear by stressing a genuine appreciation for music beyond the mechanics of piano instruction. For my advanced students, I challenge them with an increasingly demanding and technical repertoire. I believe strongly in performance, and I create opportunities for my students to perform in public music competitions and local concerts to build their confidence.
