Heewon Jeon

Hee Won Jeon is a highly accomplished Korean cellist recognized for her exceptional skill and contributions to the classical music world. Currently pursuing her Doctor of Music at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana—where she also completed her Master of Music—Jeon holds a Bachelor of Music from Johannes Gutenberg University’s Musikhochschule Mainz in Germany.

Her professional journey reflects a blend of technical mastery and artistic versatility. Jeon has enriched the global festival circuit with performances at esteemed events such as the Lake George Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, Domaine Forget de Charlevoix, Chautauqua Institution, The Next Festival of Emerging Artists, and Beethoven Orchestra Hessen. As an educator, she served on the String Faculty at Queens Summer Vocal Institute and has conducted a guest artist masterclass at Ball State University, mentoring the next generation of musicians. Her orchestral career spans a wide array of prestigious ensembles, including Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, and Evansville Philharmonic. Jeon has held principal or assistant principal positions with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Venice Symphony Orchestra, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Festival Orchestra, showcasing her leadership and adaptability.
