Pianist

Karaçil Cerit, who was born in İzmir and comes from an opera singer family, graduated from İzmir Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory Piano Department, Prof. As a student of Nilgün Alkan, she graduated from the Bachelor’s Program in 2008 and from the Master’s program in 2010 with honors. She won the “Young Soloists” competition in 2008 and played Cesar Franck’s “Theme and Symphonic Variations” as a soloist with the Izmir State Symphony Orchestra.
She settled in Germany in 2010, graduated in 2013 from “Würzburg Hochschule für Musik” Prof. Piano and Piano Pedagogy as a student of Silke-Thora Matthies and Prof. Burkhard Kehring’s class with honors from Department of Master-Lied pianist and Korrepetition at the “Hamburg Hochschule für Musik” in 2015. She made it to the finals of the International Maritim and Elisa Mayer Singing Competitions. In 2014, she was awarded the “Lied Pianist Special Award” at the 1st International Mahler Liedduo Competition.
The pianists Karaçil Cerit has worked with at the Masterclasses she attended: Hüseyin Sermet, Gülsin Onay, Toros Can, Martin Berkofsky, Ilya Itin, Kemal Gekiç, Vladimir Krypan, Francesco Libetta, Prof. Peter Florian, Prof. Detlef Kaiser, Prof. Wolfgang Manz, Prof. Yuuko Amanuma, Björn Bohlin, Holger Berndsen, Prof. Gerold Huber. She took an active part in Eğirdir Classical Music Festival and International Marmaris Bosphorus Music Academy and organized Masterclasses she. He participated in the International Gumusluk Music Academy, Antalya Pera Piano, Istanbul International Pera und X. Opus Amadeus Chamber Music Festival, International Trabzon Music Festival, Chinese Lied festivals in Hamburg, Izmir Goethe Institute in Europe, Ismet Inonu Cultural Center, Izmir Art, Ankara Mozarthaus, Istanbul Yeldeğirmeni. She gave recitals and concerts in Art, Maritime Museum, German Consulate, Austrian Culture Office, Umay Art, Kozyatağı, BMK and Caddebostan Cultural Center, Süreyya Opera House and many other cities.
She was invited to Hamburg Music University in 2019 and took part in the project called “Global Song” and gave a seminar and workshop on A. A. Saygun’s song album “On Human” in German.
In 2022, she was a guest of the programs TRT Radio 3 by Prof. Cihat Aşkın, Radyo Alaturca by Ersin Antep and Radio Cazkolik by Salim Zaimoğlu, and “Classical Journey” by Serhan Bali on Habibat TV and gave live concerts.
Karaçil Cerit graduated from Istanbul University State Conservatory Proficiency in Art (DR) Program Piano Department in March 2020, as a student of Prof. Sibel Atal Devrim and Lecturer Irakli Chumburidze with high success.
In 2023, she was awarded the “Gold Medal” in the International Global Music Competition Concerto (solo piano with orchestral accompaniment) Category and “Best Teacher” in UK Music Competition, “Teacher Award” in Cambridge Competition. She also won the “First Prize” in the International Vivaldi Music Competition Duo Category and the International Sibelius Competition Professional / Chamber Music Category.The articles of Cerit, who performed works from different periods in the congress or symposium by being invited from various congresses, have been published in international journals. She continues her concerts as a solo, chamber music pianist, and korrepetitor, regularly organizes masterclasses at various Fine Arts High Schools and Universities, and as the pianist of the “Istanbul Opera Ensemble” of which Serhan Bali is auch member and “Trio Galante” group.
She has been working as an “Associate Professor” at the İ.Ü. State Conservatory and at Istanbul Nişantaşı University Music Department and Conservatory.
