Education & Future Goals:
Silas has been training in Clarinet (Bb, A, and bass) since 2022. Silas started his instruction with Dr. Thomas Durante in McKinney, Texas. Then shifted under the instruction of Ken Snow, founder of SnowTones. He has also trained under Steven Robinson, former principal clarinetist for SMU Meadows Symphony and current principal clarinetist for McKinney Philharmonic as well as the current clarinet teaching fellow at University of North Texas. Currently, Silas is working with Mr. Sam Boutris. Sam is a former undergraduate student at Curtis Institute of Music, graduate student of Yale University, and The Juilliard School. He recently completed his certificate for Music Theory Fundamentals in the summer of 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Andrew Martin Smith.
Silas played under the instruction of Kevin Garza in the Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra Symphonic Orchestra in the 2023-2024 season and has been training under Jason Lim, artistic director and maestro of the Greater North Texas Youth Orchestra: Young Artist Division, and the McKinney Philharmonic Orchestra since the 2024-2025 season to current day.
Silas plans to attend a music/arts college and train professionally in performance and composition, specifically focusing on classical repertoire.
Silas would love to play professionally one day for the Berlin Philharmonic.
