Abigail Kim

Abby C. Kim started playing cello at the age of 7. From 2018 to 2019 she performed with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony – Interlude Orchestra in Portland, Oregon. In the 2019-2020 season, she performed with the Portland Youth Philharmonic, Young Strings Ensemble. In the 2020-2021 season she is currently performing with the Portland Youth Philharmonic as a member of the Portland Youth Conservatory Orchestra. Abby has participated in International music competitions placing: First Place in the 2020 Great Composers Competition: Art of Strings; First Place in the 2020 King’s Peak International Music Competition Age Group B; and Second Place in 2021 Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition. Most recently, Abby won first place in American Protégé, International Concerto Competition 2021 and is invited to play in the Carnegie Hall in 2022. Abby has attended the summer music camps at Atlanta Festival Academy both 2021 and 2022. Her teachers are Hyun Jin Kim of Portland, Oregon, USA, Dr. Martin Gueorguiev of Johns Creek, Georgia, USA and Elaine Shin of Johns Creek, Georgia, USA.
