
Adelle Sullivan-Cozza is a 16-year-old attending the bilingual charter Las Americas Aspira Academy High School in Newark, DE. She has been playing violin since she was 2 years old, and is taught by Lee Snyder and Juliette Kang. She is also attending the Cincinnati Starling-Prep Program as student of Kurt Sassmannshaus.
Adelle has been a member of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra Music Institute since 2018, in the Young Musicians Debut Orchestra, Philadelphia Young Artists Orchestra, and the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra. As of 2023, she is a member of the Settlement Advanced Chamber Ensemble, the Gray Charitable Trust Piano Trio, and is a recipient of the Zallman Perpetual Prize. She has won the Vivace Competition for her age level in 2015 and 2016, and has placed in the DE Concerto Competition for 12 and under division (2018).
Performing as a soloist, Adelle has debuted with the Delaware Community Orchestra in 2020 after winning the 12 & under Concerto Competition, won an Honorable Mention in the Newark Concerto Competition, and later on First Prize along with a solo performance with the Newark Symphony Orchestra. In the spring of 2024, she performed the Wieniawski Concerto No.2 with the Ambler Symphony Orchestra after winning first prize in the Ambler Symphony Competition.
Aside from her musical performance, Adelle, alongside her sisters, is an active member in fostering new musical communities as a founder and instructor of Strings For Change; a nonprofit organization, created in 2020, that focuses on creating a musical environment in a low income community through free instruments and class instruction. As of 2023, Adelle has dedicated 350+ Volunteer Hours of instruction and preparation for violin group classes, and has provided access to free instruments and free instruction to over 100 elementary grade students.
Adelle has attended numerous musical summer Institutes and Programs, such as the Suzuki Association of the America’s Biannual Conference in Minneapolis, among other Suzuki programs and Point Counterpoint summer camp. In addition, she also has attended the Sphinx Performance Academy online in 2020, and at the Juilliard Campus in 2022, as well as the Heifetz International Music Institute from 2021-2023. She is also a Settlement Music School Scholarship Recipient, former Philadelphia Music Alliance for Youth member, and a select Primavera Fund Artist in the Philadelphia Area.
