Aja Zou

Aja Zou started her piano studies at age 6. She studies under Dr. Seonghyang Kim and attends Sage Hill School in Newport Beach, California. Aja has participated in numerous concerts and competitions in her piano career regionally, nationally, and internationally. Recently, she was named the Second Place Winner of the 2022 American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, invited to perform at Carnegie Hall. She received Second Prize in the 2021 OPUS Music Competition, qualifying to compete as a finalist in the 2022 national round. She received Third Prize in the 2021 Charleston International Music Competition of Romantic Music. Additionally, she has been chosen as a finalist last year for the King’s Peak International Music Competition. In her youth years, Aja was named the First Prize Winner of The International Music Competition “Grand Prize Virtuoso” where she was invited to debut at Gläserner Sal, Musikverein in Vienna, Austria. She participated in the MAP International Music Competition in 2018 and 2019, earning Third Prize and First Prize, respectively. Regionally, Aja has performed in MTAC’s (Music Teachers’ Association of California) annual conventions and the Southwestern Youth Music Festival. She earned State Honors with perfect marks on her Level-Advanced Certificate of Merit (CM) Examination and will be auditioning for MTAC Panel Honors.
