Akshatha Arunkumar, a rising freshman in California, started playing viola at age 11. She is the principal violist at the California Philharmonic Youth Associate Orchestra and the lead violist in her school orchestra and has achieved significant milestones in her musical journey. In 2023, she won the San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition and the Bach International Music Competition. Additionally, she was selected to play for the Junior High All-State Orchestras in both 2023 and 2024. She also won the International Grand Virtuoso Competition. Akshatha studies viola under Mr. Byung-Woo Kim.
