Alexander Farng

Alexander is a passionate young cellist who has been studying the instrument for 4 and 1/2 years under the guidance of Mr. Sangwon Cho. Alexander’s commitment to excellence is reflected in numerous competition achievements. From 2021 through 2024, Alexander consistently placed at the Satori Music Competition and Southwestern Youth Music Festival, earning both first and second place honors. He also won first place at various competitions such as Pelican International Music Competition, Charleston International Music Competition, Global Musical Arts Competition, Music Through the Centuries, Musical Arts Competitions, and named a finalist in CalASTA. In 2025, Alexander won first place in competitions that led to the honor of performing with an orchestra at Carnegie Hall and Walt Disney Concert Hall. Alexander was also selected for the All-State Orchestra in 2026. In addition to solo accomplishments, Alexander is an active member of the Amati Orchestra, where he contributes to community service through music. Beyond music, Alexander plays AAU basketball and serves as a Student Body President.
