My name is Alex Romero, I’m 17 years old and I’m currently a junior in high school. I started playing the flute in 6th grade, when I was 14, for my middle school band class, and I’ve been playing it ever since. When I was 16, I joined the Youth Symphony of DuPage and performed with them for a total of three years. I’ve played in their highest band for two years and became the principal for one. Also, I performed with the Naperville Youth Symphony Orchestra for one year and was the principal. In addition, I was part of NYSO’s Flute Choir and we were selected to perform at the NFA’s 50th Anniversary Conenvention. Outside of orchestra, I perform in different community bands around my area. I really love to play the flute, and I find music to be the most artistic form of expression.
