Alexander Vollmer

Alexander Vollmer started learning piano at age 9 and has been studying with Mr. Allan Park since 2021. In the last two years, he participated in nearly 20 regional, national and international piano competitions. He has taken home 8 gold medals/ first prizes, and 6 silver medals/ second prizes, among others. The highlights includes Distinguished Gold Medals at SPIC Classical Viennese Festival two years in a row (2022 & 2023), Winner of 2023 National Young Virtuosi Recital Competition, The First Place in 2023 American Virtuous International Music Competition, State Recitalist Winner in 2023 WSMTA State Recitalist Competition, Gold Medals at 2023 International French Music Piano Competition, 2022 Pacific Northwest Piano Competition, 2022 Russian Chamber Music Foundation of Seattle Competition, The First Prize Winner in the 22nd KMA Youth Music Scholarship Competition and Silver medalist at 2023 Chopin NW Piano Competition. He has been accepted into 2023 Seattle Piano Institute, an immersion Summer Program at the University of Washington School of Music, and will study with Robin McCabe, Craig Sheppard, Amy Grinsteiner and Daninius Vaicekonis. He also received Master classes with Silvan Negrutiu, Peter Takács and Justin Krawitz.

A 7th grader at Lakeside School in Seattle, he loves reading, math, and playing chess. He also plays the trumpet in his school concert band. He received the Grand Honors award from John Hopinks CTY in 2021 and is a Davidson Young Scholar. He is looking forward to performing at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall as a first prize winner this coming November.
