Alexander Xie

Alexander Xie is freshman at Quarry Lane School, California who has studied piano since age of 4. He made his debut at Carnegie Hall Weill Recital Hall after wining the Grand Prix award at the Concert Festival International Competition in 2017 and also received a $1500 scholarship. In the same year, he won first place at contemporary category in the East Bay Music Foundation competition. He also won first place in the Treasury of Classical Composers Intermediate category at USOMC and got the outstanding performer reward at the winner’s concert in 2020.

Besides piano, he is also a competitive marimba player. He has studied marimba since age of 7. He won the second place prize in the Percussive Arts Society middle school solo category in 2021. Alexander is a member of the pre-university percussion group, which performs at the California Theatre every Christmas to raise money for the parents helping parents charity organization.
