Alina Chen is 11 years old and currently attends Olentangy Meadows Elementary School in Lewis Center, Ohio. She has been learning the piano for over three years. She has been studying piano and music theory with Dr. Vivien Huiwen Jiang-Vizurraga.
In 2025, Alina earned ABRSM Piano Grade 5 Certificate with Distinction, and previously achieved ABRSM Piano Grade 3 with Distinction, as well as passing the ABRSM Music Theory Exam Grade 5. She has performed in several piano recitals and multiple school talent shows.
Alina has received numerous awards in international piano competitions, including:
Outstanding Achievement Award in the 2025 American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition, earning an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Third Prize in the 2024 Charleston International Music Competition (Summer Music Division).
Second Prize in the 2024 Charleston International Music Competition (20th Century Music Division).
Fourth Prize in the 2024 Charleston International Music Competition (Spring Music Division).
Special Mention in the American Classical Music Awards.
Through her dedication and consistent musical growth, Alina continues to develop both her technical skills and artistic expression. She enjoys sharing her music through performances and looks forward to continuing her musical journey.
