Allison Xiaoman Zhang

Allison Zhang, age 16, started her piano lessons at age 5. Since then, her musical studies and interest have spanned over many areas. Allison is a student at the Music Institute of Chicago where she studies with the Artist Faculty, Dr. Soo Young Lee. She is a CAMTA and NSMTA Summer Music Program Merit Scholarship winner, a Triple Gold Medalist from CAMTA, NSMTA, and NWSMTA Sonata-Sonatina Festivals, and a first place winner in the 183rd Anniversary Best Tchaikovsky Performance International Music Competition. Allison regularly performs at the Merion Concert Series, and she was honored to participate in the Steinway Piano’s Master Class Series with pianist Christoper O’Riley and Jerome Lowenthal, 2021 Chicago Chamber Music Festival and Thirsty Ears Festival, Northwestern Summer Duo Piano Masterclasses, 2023 Chicago Grant Park Masterclass with Joyce Yang, and will be performing at the Steinway And Sons “Young Steinway Artist” Series in June 2024. She was recently a First Place Winner of the American Protégé Music Talent Competition in 2023, and was honored to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York.
