My name is Alvina Lin, and I attend Arnold O. Beckman High School. Before moving to the United States, I was a cellist at the Taipei Philharmonic Youth Ensemble. Now I’m a motivated cellist at the Orange County Youth Symphony and principal cellist at Beckman High School’s Chamber Orchestra. In the past, I also played at the SCSBOA All-Southern Music Festival, New York International Music Festival at Carnegie Hall, and as part of the Endpin Project for the UCI Ukraine Emergency Response Fund to help Ukrainian Scholars escape. In addition, I also lead a club at school called Retirement Rhythms, gathering student musicians to perform musical performances monthly for local senior citizens.
