Amanda Chen started her piano journey at 6. She receives a 100% merit-based, full scholarship from the Recanati-Kaplan Program at the 92NY School of Music & Gilda and Henry Block School of the Arts. Amanda has broadened her music experience through competitions, masterclasses, and public recitals. She played in the Young Pianist Showcase Concert at the 2019 Washington International Piano Festival. In summer 2022, she was selected to study with Amy Yang under the collaboration between Curtis and 92NY. Amanda has been invited to perform at many prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, Ward Recital Hall, Royal Albert Hall, and Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Concert Hall. She has won many international competitions with recent ones including Second Place (16-20yrs) at the 11th International JSFest Instrumental Music Competition (2023) and Silver Prize (14-16yrs) at the 4th WPTA Singapore International Piano Competition (2022).
