Amanda Leanne Chen

Amanda Chen is a 16 year old from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She started learning to play the piano with Ms. Hsiu-Hui Chen at the age of 6 and has been playing ever since.

She started participating in international piano competitions at age 11 and has continuously improved. Most recently, she won First Prize in the 2022 Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition and performed in Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall. In 2021, she also won First Prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, as well as Second Prize in the Bonn Grand Prize Virtuoso. In 2020, she won Second Prize in the London Grand Prize Virtuoso and was recognized by the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition. In 2019, she won Second Prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition. In 2018, she won Third Prize in the Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso and in 2017, she won Third Prize in her first Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition.

Amanda has always had a passion for music, picking up violin lessons at age 9 and then the guitar at age 12. Her love for music is also reflected in her volunteer work in her community, coordinating and performing for nursing homes in Ann Arbor.
