Anabelle Calles is a 16 year old singer born in Miami, Florida. This young artist has always loved music. At the age of six, she started piano lessons. In 2020, Anabelle discovered her love for opera. She joined Manny Perez Vocal Studio where she was introduced to her first arias. In the same year, she participated in the two virtual sessions of the Miami classical Music Festival (MMF). Anabelle learned tools/concepts in audio and video editing using applications, such as ProTool, Adobe Premiere Rush, Studio One, and Final Cut Pro. Anabelle was also invited to sing at the Chancel and Hymnal Choirs of the Prince of Peace chyrch in Virginia through virtual recordings. She was also a featured artists in the Betsy recording for Zen and the Art of Zarzuela and Zen and the Art of Opera. In 2021, Anabelle Calles won first place at the Young Talent Big Dreams competition category Jazz/Broadway/Opera. Anabelle’s exposure to acting has allowed here to become more integrated into the art of opera. Last year, Anabelle was offered the part of Harry in the opera, Albert Herring. Likewise, she represented her high school at the Florida Thespians. This year, Anabelle placed 1st in the North Carolina regionals Schmidt high school competition and was one of the 10 finalists in the National Schmidt high school competition. This summer, Anabelle was invited to the Baroque Institute at MMF to play the role Valletto in l’incoronazione di Poppea.
