Born and raised in Jakarta, Andrea Turk (a descendant from Indonesia’s national anthem composer, W.R. Soepratman) is a 19 year old Indonesian-Croatian musician/singer-songwriter/producer whose soul lies in the genre of Pop. She is currently living in Greater Los Angeles as well as pursuing her BFA degree, majoring as a VoiceArts student at California Institute of the Arts, California. She’s released three full-length albums, alongside her latest single release “Super Human” that got placed on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists in 8 Asian countries.
Andrea completed a rigorous training in USA: Berklee College of Music in 2016, NYU Steinhardt in 2017 & 2018, and NYU TISCH Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2018. Completing ABRSM exams for Music Theory, Piano, and Singing, Andrea received an ABRSM Award for achieving the highest score in Classical Singing exam in Indonesia.
Andrea’s singing career reached its peak when she performed as the Opening Act at The CHAINSMOKERS’ LIVE Concert in Jakarta with DJ group Weird Genius in Jakarta on the March 30, 2018. Her latest achievement is composing and producing a thematic song “Garden”, for a cinematic movie titled “Rumput Tetangga” (Neighbour’s Grass), premiering in cinemas on April 18, 2019.
Praised for her skills in songwriting by coach Vanessa Williams for her second single “Nothing About You” during a showcase at NYU Steinhardt’s Vocal Contemporary Workshop, Andrea was selected for two consecutive years amongst an outstanding group of 40 songwriters at NYU Steinhardt’s Songwriters Workshop.
