
Andrei Caquimbo is an oboist from Orlando, FL. While in high school, he was a member of the Florida Youth Symphonic Orchestra, All-country honor bands, Music Honor Society (Tri-M), and principal in high school wind ensemble. He is now a freshman studying oboe performance at Stetson University under the direction of Dr. Dione Chandler. While at Stetson, he is principal oboe in the symphony orchestra and the symphonic band. Previous oboists he has studied with include Dr. Ann Adams, Mrs. Amy Collins, and Mrs. Katie Hoey. He has also attended master classes with oboist Sherry Sylar (New York Philharmonic), Philippe Tondre (Philadelphia Orchestra), and Margaret Butler (Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra). Awards won include the 2022 Stetson Double Reed Young Artist Winner (Marcello concerto) and the 2023 Arizona International Music Competition Best Oboe Concerto Performance Award (Mozart concerto).
