Andrew Katz, age 13, is a dedicated and accomplished violist with three years of study. He currently hones his craft under the guidance of Ilana Revkin. Andrew serves as Principal Viola in the Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Repertory Orchestra and String Ensemble and has been selected as Principal Viola for the 2025 All-State Junior Music Festival, following his role as Assistant Principal Viola in 2024.
His ensemble experience extends to the South Kingstown Summer String Orchestra, URI Summer String Music Camp, Solo & Ensemble Festival, and the Honors Music Festival. An active member of his middle school orchestra, Andrew also broadens his musicianship by playing the violin and piano. His passion for music is evident in his commitment to refining his technique and artistry across a variety of musical settings.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Andrew is a competitive tennis player and a straight-A student. He is also dedicated to giving back to his community, including active involvement with his local temple.
