Anna Hayoon Byun

Anna Hayoon Byun is a 7th-grade student from San Jose and she has been playing the clarinet for three years. Before discovering her love for the clarinet, she played piano for four years. Anna currently serves as a co-principal 1 clarinetist in the Wind Symphony of the California Youth Symphony and plays bass clarinet in her school orchestra.

In 2024 and 2025, Anna received top prizes in several competitions, including the Charleston International Music Competition, SFIIMC, American Protégé, and Silicon Valley Music Competition. She also had the honor of performing at Carnegie Hall this summer, a memorable and inspiring experience that deepened her passion for music.

Beyond music, Anna has been an active member of the Girl Scouts, dedicating her time to community service and leadership. She hopes to continue growing as a musician and to share warmth and inspiration with others through her clarinet playing.
