Anna Lee

Anna Lee is currently a freshman in Huron High School located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is an active member of her school’s symphony orchestra and also participates in the Detroit Symphony Youth Orchestra as well as the Michigan Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Anna began her study of the violin at the age of four with Mr. Vasile Chintoan (Toledo Symphony Orchestra). She continued learning with him until she joined the String Preparatory Academy of the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre, & Dance, where she studied with Ms. Mallory Tabb, who is the assistant concertmaster of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. Since early 2021, Anna has been enjoying learning from Ms. Kimberly Kennedy, the acting concertmaster of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.

Throughout her training, she won several regional recognitions, including being the concertmaster of the Michigan School Band & Orchestra Association (MSBOA) All-state middle school orchestra in the year 2019-2020, junior division winner of the Detroit Civic Youth Ensemble (CYE) concerto competition in 2020, and alternate winner for the Michigan Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) competition in 2021.

She is passionate about creating music specifically with others, cooperating with individuals to perform together.
