
Aria McCloskey is a 15-year-old sophomore at the Bryn Mawr School in Baltimore, Maryland. She began studying piano at age 5 with Dr. Seungmin Chung, and music has since become a major part of her life. In addition to her piano lessons, Aria has discovered a passion for various other musical activities. She has enjoyed playing the double tenor pan in a steel pan ensemble, playing the cello in various orchestras including the Maryland All-State Orchestra, and has served as a keyboardist in both a jazz ensemble and a rock band, as well as a pianist in the Peabody Prep Chamber Music Program.
Aria has received first prizes at the MSMTA Brown Memorial Piano Concerto Competition, YMIC Metropolitan Piano Concerto Festival, MSMTA Spring Piano Solo Festival, Gottlieb Memorial Competition, and the International Young Artist Piano Competition. She has also had the honor of performing a solo on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, as well as a Mozart Piano Concerto with the New England Youth Ensemble.
