Violinist, Aria Messina, 17, has been studying with Addison Teng for six years at the Music Institute of Chicago. She has been studying piano since September 2017 with Andy Costello. Since 2020, she has been the teaching assistant to Addison Teng. She has received the Addison Teng Merit Scholarship and has represented the studio on the Philippines Tour in 2016, the Greece Tour in 2018, and the Italy/San Marino Tour in 2019. Aria has attended the Montecito International Music Festival since 2015, where she received scholarships every year, as well as Guarneri Hall Summer Music Academy in 2020. She has participated in the chamber music program at the Music Institute of Chicago and at the New Music School. Messina is currently the concertmaster of the Jones College Prep Symphony Orchestra. Aria has played in masterclasses given by Martin Beaver, David Bogorad, Emanuel Borok, Paolo Chiavacci, Samuel Fischer, Miriam Fried, Paul Huang, Paul Manaster, Chiara Morandi, Linda Wang, Dimitris Xandrakis, and Peter Zazofsky. This upcoming year, she will be traveling with Professor Teng on tour to Mongolia.
