Ashley Kay Cypher

Ashley Cypher, originally from Palmyra, PA holds a MM Woodwind Specialist from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a BM in Clarinet Performance and a BM in Music Education from Liberty University. Her clarinet teachers include Dr. Diane Barger, Dr. Cassandra Hibbard, and Dr. Ibrook Tower. Ashley has studied bassoon with Dr. Nathan Koch and Dr. Rebecca Watson, saxophone with Dr. Paul Haar, and oboe with Dr. William McMullen.

Ashley won the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Graduate Concerto Competition in 2019 as well as the Annual Concerto Competition at Liberty University in 2018. Ashley was also featured as a soloist with the Liberty University Wind Ensemble on tour in the spring of 2018. Ashley has performed with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra as guest principal, E-flat clarinetist, and bass clarinetist and as a woodwind doubler in various musicals, operas, and ballets. She has worked as a studio musician in the Lynchburg area as well as a conductor for theatrical productions. Currently Ashley has moved to Lincoln, NE and teaches music at Lincoln Northeast High School while maintaining her personal studies and performances.
