Benedict started learning violin/piano from his mom, Jungmee Hwang (a dentist) at age 5 during the COVID 19 times in 2020. There was a lot of time at home with no school and mom not going to work. He has progressed a lot since then and currently working on music by many different composers. Benedict is part of Loudoun Symphony Youth Orchestra and just had first public concert with the orchestra in November 2022. This is also the very first time for Benedict to participate in a piano competition.
