Benjamin Choi is a 16-year-old aspiring violinist from McLean, Virginia. A current student of Lya Stern, Ben has studied the violin intensively since he was six years old and has achieved top finishes in numerous prominent violin competitions, including the NLPA International Young Artists Competition, the Caurine Easterling Memorial Strings Competition, the AMYU International Music Talent Competition, and the NVMTA Annual Concerto Competition. Ben has been invited to perform as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, and has also played on the main stage of Strathmore’s Music Theatre as well as the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall. He plays first violin in the prestigious American Youth Philharmonic, and is a member of the 2020-21 Virginia All-State Orchestra. Ben currently attends the Potomac School, where he plays chamber and is Concertmaster of the school orchestra.
