Brandon Luo

Brandon Luo, 15, is a ninth grader from Apex, NC, who began his piano study with Florence Ko at age five. He was the 2021-2022 North Carolina Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Senior Piano Competition winner, and 2018-2019 NC MTNA Junior Piano Competition Winner. He also won first place in the RPTA Young Artist Auditions, Charles F.T. Nakarai Piano Competition, International Great Composers Competition in multiple categories, American Protégé International Music Talent Competition, RPTA Scholarship Competition, CAPTA Bullard Competition, Raleigh Music Club Competition, as well as the State Royalty Competitions, NC Federation of Music Clubs State Competition “Mary Davis Memorial Award”, “Maxine Taylor Fountain Award” and “NCFMC Past Presidents Award”. Furthermore, Brandon placed first in the 2021 East Carolina University Young Artist Piano Competition Junior Division, 2021 United States International Music Competition and 2021 Great Masters International Piano Competition. In 2017, he performed at Carnegie Hall. Recently, Brandon won first place prize in the 3rd Annual Hayes School of Music Piano Competition. In addition to music, Brandon likes playing video games and watching movies.
