Brianna Marie Liller

Brianna Marie Liller

I have been playing the piano since I was 4 years old. From there, I continued throughout the years and now I am going on playing for 14 years. In the 4th grade, I picked up clarinet in school since it became an option for the band. I continued with clarinet but wanted to learn more. I participated in the summer band program that my band teachers were offering and during those programs I learned how to play the flute and the saxophone. I am now currently taking lessons on all three of those instruments with Artie Bressler, my teacher. I am still currently taking piano lessons with my current teacher- Ms. Cristina Altamura. I have been studying with her for about 9 years now. With her, when I was 13 years old, I had the chance of a lifetime to go perform in Italy for a juried competition the Osimo Nuova Coppa Pianist Competition in 2016. From 4th-8th grade, I was a part of the band program that my middle school was offering. I participated in the main concert band, the jazz band, and any small ensembles I could. When I got to high school, I joined the band programs of course, but also starting taking choir. I participated in concert band, concert choir, jazz band, wind ensemble, marching band, and the pit ensemble for the spring musical. I study in a Saturday class school called The Newark School of the Arts. All their classes for the conservatory program take place on Saturday mornings. I take Music History, Music Theory, and Music Business as well as my piano, flute, saxophone, and clarinet lessons. I auditioned at the end of my sophomore year and started in September of my junior year of high school. When I was just starting high school, I knew that I wanted to pursue a career in music. My senior year, I was accepted to William Paterson University and Montclair State University’s music education program, and I have accepted to continue my career at William Paterson.
