Caleb Deng’s musical journey began at age 5 under the guidance of his first piano teacher, Dr. Cindy Lin. In 2021, Caleb’s family moved to the Chicagoland area, which connected him with Dr. Ann Birman. Dr. Birman has since been a constant source of nurturing and inspiration for Caleb’s musical development.
Now 11 years old, Caleb’s love for music has expanded to include a passion for the violin. He currently serves as the chamber violist in the Maple Middle School Orchestra, led by teacher Mrs. Renee Yoo.
In addition to his love for music, Caleb is also a speed skater. He qualified for the National Challenge Age group for speed skating, training with the Northbrook Speed Skating Club under coach Tom Anderson. Besides, Caleb loves math and was selected to join the Maple school math club.
