Calla Jin

Calla has been learning piano with Ms. Joyce Ng since she was four and half years old. In September 2019, Calla won the First Prize + Exceptional Young Musician Special Prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Music Competition, where she performed at the Gläserner Saal, Musikverein (Vienna). A few months later, Calla won First Place in the Crescendo International Youth Music Competition and the American Protégé International Piano and String Competition respectively. She performed in winners’ concert at Carnegie Hall at the age of seven. In May 2020, Calla participated the Piano Star Showcase held by Piano League and won the title of “Rising Star”. The event was live streamed to the public on various platforms including YouTube.

Calla enjoys playing music for her classmates at school, as well as playing solo or duet at various salon concerts. She enjoys moments of satisfaction when she nails down difficult pieces and when people recognize her tremendous efforts. Her genuine love of music, her dedication in daily practice, and the confidence and ease at which she performs onstage impresses her family, teachers, and peers.
