Cameron began studying piano at age 5 and quickly developed a passion for expressive and technically challenging repertoire. Since beginning lessons in 2018, he has earned recognition in numerous music competitions for both solo piano and chamber music performances.
Cameron first received recognition at age seven when he earned 3rd Place at the Southwestern Youth Music Festival with Frédéric Chopin’s Waltz in D-flat Major. He continued to distinguish himself in competitions with performances of works such as Aram Khachaturian’s Two Ladies Gossiping, Alberto Ginastera’s Danzas Argentinas, Op. 2 No. 3, and Moritz Moszkowski’s Caprice Espagnol.
His recent achievements include First Place awards at the Global Music Arts Competition, Pacific Stars International Piano Competition, Charleston International Summer Music Competition, and the Satori Summer Music Festival. In 2024, he was also invited to perform at Carnegie Hall following his competition success.
In addition to solo piano, Cameron enjoys collaborative music-making and has participated in Junior Chamber Music programs in Orange County as both a piano-violin duo and piano trio member. His chamber repertoire has included Beethoven’s “Spring” Sonata for Violin and Piano and Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons of Buenos Aires: Spring.
Cameron has also completed all nine levels of the Music Teachers’ Association of California Certificate of Merit program, earning State Honors each year.
Outside of music, Cameron enjoys playing basketball on both league and AAU teams, performing percussion in his middle school symphonic band, reading, and playing video games.
