Catherine Li is a 15-year-old honor student from San Jose, CA. She has performed solo at the Carnegie Hall several times, as a 4-time 1st place winner in the American Protégé International competition and a 2-time 1st place winner in the American Fine Arts Festival (AFAF) piano competition. She is also a 1st place winner in the Golden Classical Music Competition and a 3rd place winner in the American Virtuoso International Music Competition. Catherine has competed in the United States Open Music Competition (USOMC) in the past 8 years and has won 25+ medals, including 1st place in Piano Solo Showcase, a category for the exceptionally gifted, and the “Outstanding Gold Medalist” award with scholarship. She is a winner of the MTAC Northern California Concerto Competition and an MTAC Certificate of Merit Advanced Panel State Honor recipient. Catherine has had the honor to participate in masterclasses and lessons with Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Dmitry Rachmanov, and Roger Woodward. Catherine also plays violin in California Youth Symphony and her school orchestra, and she loves to bring music to her community by performing at local malls and parks, senior centers, and the children’s hospital. Catherine also enjoys math, programming, reading, and playing volleyball.
