Charles Benjamin Carter

Violist Ben Carter was born and raised in Greer, South Carolina. He earned his Bachelor’s in Music from the University of South Carolina, and will begin pursuing his Master’s degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music in the Fall of 2022. Ben is a First Prize winner of the King’s Peak International Music Competition, and a recipient of the Music Club of Greenville Scholarship. Ben has appeared with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra, the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, The Palmetto Opera, and has performed with members of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Recent festival appearances include Eastern Music Festival, Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, and Domaine Forget de Charlevoix. His primary teachers include George Taylor, Daniel Sweaney, and Jeffrey Irvine.
