Charles Zhu is an 10th grader attending Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has been learning piano for about nine years. His former teachers were Ms. PeiXian Wang, Mrs. Vivian Ripley, and Dr. Aya Higuchi Hagelthorn. His current piano teacher is Ms. Hsiu-Hui Chen. Some of his achievements are: earned the Junior Festival 15 Point Cup while only participating three times; completed Royal Conservatory Music books Level four through Level seven, and passed the theory and performance exams with First Class Honors. In 2020 and 2022, Charles earned the First Prize in the “Golden Classical Music Awards” International Competition. He was invited to perform twice at Weill Recital Hall in New York City. In 2023 Charles Zhu won 3rd prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards competition.
