Cindy Qian Xue

Cindy Xue, a sixteen year old from Ann Arbor, Michigan, began her piano studies at the age of five. Since then, she has gone on to win several international piano competitions. In 2019, she won First Prize in both the Brussels Grand Prize Virtuoso and Golden Classical Music Awards International Competitions, where she performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The following year, she won Third Prize at the American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition. In 2021, she won Second Prize in the London Grand Prize Virtuoso and Third Prize in the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competitions. Additionally, in 2017, she was recognized as a Special Plague Receiver by the National Piano Teachers Guild for 15 pieces of Early Sonatina. She has also participated in the MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Festival since the sixth grade, receiving one of the highest scores in the state this year, and a Division I ranking throughout all six years. Cindy is also active in the community as a music volunteer, coordinating music showcases and performing at local nursing homes and hospitals. Besides piano, Cindy also plays cello in the Michigan Youth Symphony Orchestra and has been a spotlighted soloist in her high school symphony orchestra. Outside of music, Cindy is the president of multiple clubs at her school and a member of her high school’s varsity lacrosse team.
