Cordelia Momo Fredrickson

Cordelia Momo Fredrickson, 15, loves music and is a passionate violinist. Momo studies violin with world-renowned violinist and DePaul University professor Janet Sung. Momo made her solo orchestral debut when she was 11 with the MYAC orchestra at Pick-Staiger Hall in Chicago IL. When Momo performed her solo at age 13, she was interviewed and featured on the School Spotlight series on Wisconsin State Journal for her musical achievements and then received a recognition award from the Madison Metropolitan School District Board of Wisconsin School of Education.

Momo is a Merit Scholarship Fellow at Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, where she had been concert mistress for 2018-2022 in the Concert Orchestra. For the last five seasons she has also played in its elite Symphony Orchestra, where she was accepted as an exceptional case despite her young age. She served as the second principal since 2023-present in Symphony Orchestra. She is also invited to be a member of I’Solisti Symphony Orchestra, MYAC’s Honers Ensemble directed by Desiree Ruhstrat.

Momo is the top prize winner of numerous international competitions: MYAC Junior Division Overall Winner (2019 and 2021) and String Category Winner of the Walgreens National Concerto Competition (2019 and 2021), Society of American Musicians (2021), Vancouver International Music (2021), International Music Bonn Grand Prize Virtuoso (2021), International Music Salzburg Grand Prize Virtuoso (2021), Golden Classical Music Awards International (2021), Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Bach Double (2022). Other prizes include from the Philadelphia International Music Festival Concerto (2020), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Wisconsin State (2021).

Momo is a sophomore at Wisconsin Virtual Academy in Madison, WI and was selected to become a member of National Honor Society for her academic achievements.
