Cyrano Jett Rosentrater

Pursuing musical authenticity, Cyrano Jett Rosentrater, is a Philadelphia-based instrumentalist and composer. He is a member of the Primavera Fund and a recipient of the SPHINX MPower grant (2022).

Cyrano also attends the J.R. Masterman school, a Philadelphia public school.



Currently, Cyrano studies violin with Kimberly Fisher. Cyrano began studying the violin at the age of four and the piano at the age of five under the tutelage of Scott Wagner and Dr. Ariane Alexander, respectively.

Cyrano composed his first serious piece at the age of eight, studying with Nina Wilkinson. Since then, Cyrano has studied composition with Dr. Ariane Alexander, Dr. Thomas Whitman, Dr. Thomas Wirtel, John B. Hedges, Dr. Justin Casinghino, and Dr. Martin Amlin. Cyrano has also studied voice and composition with Dr. Timothy Renner.



Cyrano has had masterclasses with Hilary Hahn, David Kim, Jessie Montgomery, Curtis Stewart, James Stephenson, Melissa White, Matthew Vaughn, Dara Morales, Alexandros Sakarellos, Paul Arnold, and Justin Bruns.



Cyrano has been a Primavera Fund Artist (2020-), a Philadelphia Musicians’ Alliance for Youth Artist (2017-2021), a Sphinx MPower Recipient (2022), a Marian Anderson Grant Recipient (2019), and a member of the All-City Composer Fellowship.



Cyrano has been a member of the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra, the Philadelphia All-City Orchestra, and Musicopia.
