Daniel Beal

Ukrainian-American pianist Daniel Beal has been a guest artist with two orchestras, and participates successfully in local, regional and international competitions, becoming a national finalist in the 2022 MTNA Piano Performance Competition. He has won state MTNA competitions two years in a row, and won the SMTA State Recitalist Competition four years in a row. He has numerous 1st place honors in the Spokane Piano Competition. Daniel has also won several international competitions, such as Platinum Prize and Excellent Technique Special Award at the 2023 Saint-Saëns International Music Competition, Platinum Prize and Characteristic Performance Award at the 2023 London Young Musician Awards, Diamond Prize and Technical Marvel Special Award at the 2023 Royale International Music Competition, First Prize and Piano Virtuoso Special Prize at the second Royal Maas International Music Competition and First Place at the 2023 King’s Peak International Music Competition. He has been awarded over two dozen gold medals at Musicfest Northwest held at Gonzaga University, including gold medals for concertos at ages nine, ten and fifteen. He is grateful to his long-term instructor Barbara Miller for her support. Daniel volunteers at retirement centers and the public library, and has been a performer and presenter on Spokane Public Radio several times. He believes classical music is an irreplaceable part of our culture today.
