
Daphne Wen is a sophomore at Montgomery Blair High School and has been playing violin since she was 4. Since she was 7, she has won various string competitions such as 1st place in Concert Artists International Competition (CAI) Virtuoso and 1st in CAI Maestro Competition, 2nd place in WPAS, 3rd in YMIC, 3rd in The Atlanta Festival Academy Competition, 1st in Friday Morning Music Club High School Competition for Strings, 3rd in Feder Memorial String Competition etc. She performed twice in Carnegie Hall in NYC, and once in Strathmore Mansion. She has attended the HeifetzPEG and Junior Summer Institute for four years and participated in the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival in Italy and the Wiener Musikseminar in Vienna, Austria. She currently studies with Rebecca Henry and is in Peabody Youth Orchestra and Peabody’s Pre-Conservatory Violin Program. Other than playing violin, Daphne swims year-round and enjoys playing volleyball.
