Darren, 16 years old, started playing piano at age 5. He has placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the annual United States Open Music Competition since 2018. He also placed 2nd in the California Association of Professional Music Teachers Contemporary Competition in 2024 as well as 1st and 3rd in the United States International Music Competition in 2022 and 2019 respectively. He was awarded concert performances in the Junior Bach Festival in 2023 and 2021 and made his international debut at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 2023. Darren plays the cello as well. Third chair of his high school’s Chamber Orchestra, he was selected for the 81st Pearl Harbor Memorial Anniversary orchestra performance in Honolulu in 2022, representing the state of California. In his free time, Darren loves to ski, write, draw, and volunteer.
